Migration to Drupal
It was a hot and humid weekend in Boston this weekend so I needed a project to work on in my air conditioned office. I decided to migrate prolucid.com from a home grown CMS coded using CodeIgniter to Drupal 5.7.
I decided to roll with the 5.7 release instead of 6.2 simply because of the availability of modules. Having stable copies of Views, CCK, and Panels is critical for me. I have a feeling as soon as those modules are out for 6.2 i'll migrate to that but in the meantime i like having access to all the stable modules.
As always this site will be a work in progress. By "drupalizing" the site I hope to make it more interactive and give our clients better and quicker access to their projects. So far the migration has actually been pretty fun. I'm using the ATCK theme as a base line which has totally changed how I theme. Rather than deconstructing a theme I can create a clean one from scratch. I found it more approachable and simpler than using Zen.
